Peter grew up in St Peters in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia in the 1950s and 1960s. His parents built their home on the banks of the River Torrens, St Peters, central to downtown Adelaide overlooking a large park.

Peter was educated at St Peters Primary School and Adelaide Boys High School.  He received a scholarship to study law at Adelaide University.  Peter received a Bachelor of Laws. 

While at Adelaide University Peter edited the law magazine On Dit and was student representative on the University Union and the Student Representative Council.

During his studies, Peter developed his entrepreneurial skills, buying and renovating houses.

Peter was admitted to practice law as a solicitor and barrister in South Australia in 1976 and in New South Wales in 1979.  Immediately after graduation he entered a law partnership specializing in tax and commercial law.

Peter moved to Sydney in 1978 to pursue commercial interests.  He joined a successful merchant banking group, Rysec International Ltd, involved in mergers and acquisitions.  Peter’s focus was upon tax and in 1982 authored the book, Company Taxes, Rydge Publications, ISBN 0909936838. 

Peter has subsequently been responsible for the establishment and success of many Australian businesses.  He was co-owner of Patricia Holdings – The Company People, a corporate compliance business that created and serviced corporations and trusts.  Patricia Holdings was at the time the largest corporate servicing business in Australia.

Peter was one of the pioneers of the secondary life market in Australia.  Life Policies of Australia, was one of the first companies in Australia to successfully trade life endowments providing benefits to investors, policy-owners, investors and the life companies.  The business was built from the ground up providing financing, trading and servicing capabilities. 

Peter has been involved in numerous innovative financing and structuring projects, covering agri-business, succession planning, corporate re-structures, futures broking, mining and investment.

Peter has been involved in the life settlements business in the United States since 1998 when he identified an unmet demand in the market, for the trading of life policies based upon mortality ratings.  He founded Life Policies of America to invest in and provide services to the life settlement market.

Peter consults on innovative finance and tax effective structures.
